Firebox Security Suite Feature Deprecation
As WatchGuard continues to expand our services and security offerings, we are constantly evaluating our products and services to ensure that they meet the needs of our partners and customers. As a result, we have decided to deprecate five product features effective October 1, 2023.
The features being deprecated are:
- RED Web Reputation Authority Service
- Not including Geolocation, Botnet Detection, or Tor Exit Node Blocking.
- AMI for Dimension
- Dimension Command
- Visibility is still available.
- WatchGuard TDR Host Sensor
- TDR Host Sensor is being replaced with EDR Core.
Deprecation means that WatchGuard will no longer provide feature enhancements or critical updates for these tools or services.
Why are these features being deprecated?
When a service or tool no longer meets our requirements or has been replaced with a tool that better aligns with WatchGuard's mission to deliver world-class security services to our customers, we announce the deprecation of the feature.
What does it mean for you?
You should expect no change to your security posture or performance. Specifically for the RED Web Reputation Authority Service, you should turn on full AV scans for network traffic if you are using our newer Firebox appliances.
