Joe Smolarski is the Chief Executive Officer of WatchGuard Technologies, a global leader in unified cybersecurity. With over 25 years of executive leadership experience across the technology sector, Joe oversees the company’s worldwide operations and strategic direction, advancing WatchGuard’s mission to simplify security delivery and empower managed service providers (MSPs) to scale their operations profitably.
Before joining WatchGuard, Joe spent nearly a decade at Kaseya as their COO and, most recently, as President, where he played a pivotal role in transforming Kaseya into a multibillion-dollar global platform, integrating more than a dozen acquisitions, uniting teams and technologies, and driving exceptional outcomes for partners, customers, employees, and investors alike.
Earlier in his career, Joe served as Chief Operating Officer at MRP, where he oversaw global operations during a period of rapid growth, and spent more than a decade at IPC Systems, holding senior leadership roles including Chief Information Officer, Head of Global Sales, and Head of Global Operations. Across these roles, he led large-scale transformation initiatives focused on operational excellence, digital transformation, and performance acceleration.
Known for his hands-on, results-driven leadership style, Joe has a deep understanding of the MSP and channel ecosystem and a strong reputation for helping partners simplify operations, strengthen customer outcomes, and accelerate growth. His extensive experience in platform development and operational integration directly supports WatchGuard’s vision of delivering a Unified Security Platform that makes world-class cybersecurity accessible, efficient, and profitable for every partner.
Joe holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management Information Systems from Temple University.
