Upgrade to AP firmware v2.2.23 or higher by October 31 to remain connected to WatchGuard Cloud
If your WatchGuard Cloud account contains access points that run firmware versions less than v2.2.23, you must upgrade those WatchGuard access points to a later version. We recommend you upgrade your access point firmware to the latest version available. To improve SSL certificate security, we are upgrading certificates on WatchGuard access points managed in WatchGuard Cloud to support 3072-bit security. These upgrades require that your access points run a minimum of firmware v2.2.23 or higher.
Upgrade Now and Stay Protected
We strongly recommend that all Access Point users upgrade to this update. Upgrading to AP firmware 2.7.17 is simple. Using WatchGuard Cloud, you can upgrade the firmware immediately or schedule the upgrade for a future time.
Notable enhancements in this release include:
- DCS (Dynamic Channel Selection) scan times are improved to prevent access points from scanning channels at the same time and optimize channel selection.
- In the access point radio settings, the DCS Scan Interval selection options are updated to 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 12, and 24 hours.
- Memory usage issues on access points are resolved.
