New WatchGuard Endpoint Security Beta

This new endpoint security version includes a series of capabilities to better protect customer systems and streamline partners' management processes and operations. It's tailored to meet the evolving needs of all clients, ensuring WatchGuard users stay ahead in the dynamic world of cybersecurity. Let's take a closer look at all the new functionalities included in this version:

• Selective Patch Installation: Choose which devices receive patches, customizing security per user needs.
• Patch Testing Groups: Test patches on selected groups before broader deployment, ensuring system compatibility.
• Enhanced Patch Installation Insights: Deeper visibility into the patch installation status and history.
• Web Access Control Against Generative AI: Block URLs related to generative AI. New filter categories: Generative AI – Text & Code, Generative AI – Multimedia, Generative AI – Conversation and Other AI ML Applications.
• Endpoint Security Agent Installation: FireCloud and NDR deployments now include our endpoint security agent installation.
• Improved Visibility and Control: Easily distinguish users with the Patch Management module and quickly identify patch installation errors.

On November 28, 2023, we advised you to upgrade all TDR Host Sensor installations to EDR Core or another WatchGuard Endpoint Security solution. We at WatchGuard understand the importance of continuous security improvement, and with that in mind, we introduced EDR Core as the successor to TDR Host Sensors. We're excited to announce that the transition to EDR Core is complete, paving the way for the official shutdown of the TDR infrastructure.

What Does This Mean for You?

We understand that transitioning from the familiar to something new can be daunting. However, we've worked diligently to ensure a smooth and seamless migration for all our customers, providing extensive resources to facilitate the transition to EDR Core. 

With the TDR infrastructure shutting down, there is one last task. Within March, you should remove any automated installers you might have, such as helper agents, as part of remote management tools, or as operating system images.

• Recent and related alerts on devices and alert pages provide important context.
• The related devices card displays the network connection between devices, providing intuitive navigation.
• Unscheduled maintenance mode prevents unwanted alerts from being raised for one, or more, devices for a specified amount of time
