Upcoming Compliance Requirement for Partners Using Our APIs

IMPORTANT NOTIFICATION!

Due to export license and regulatory requirements, every subscriber account must include complete end-user data. If you are currently using our Accounts API, you must implement some changes before October 15th to avoid disruption.

Additional data is now mandatory for all the subscribers:
 - Full mailing address
 - Whether the customer is a Government/State Owned or a Private or Publicly Traded Company

This information must be added in the account information for every customer, otherwise it won't be allowed to activate or allocate new licenses of any WatchGuard product. Previous allocations will not be affected unless a change is made, in which case the additional information will be required.

To help partners manage these new requirements at scale, we have released a new version of the Accounts Public API available here. Partners can leverage the new Accounts Public API for bulk updates to their account information.

If you are currently using our Accounts API, adding this data requires you to use the new Accounts API available here. The current version of the Accounts API will be deprecated on October 15th.

Effective August 6th, the Allocations API returns a warning if a subscriber account is missing any required data. Starting October 15th, allocations will fail for new accounts that haven't been updated. Further details about the changes to implement are available in this article. Once the required changes are implemented, the Allocations API will return a 200 Success status. Please ensure this is confirmed for all your accounts before October 15th to avoid disruption.
