New Features

WatchGuard NDR for Firebox License

WatchGuard NDR for Firebox is licensed by Firebox model to provide comprehensive traffic monitoring, in-depth VPN log analysis, DHCP log analysis, and device monitoring for any endpoint connected to a Firebox.

You can now allocate WatchGuard NDR for Firebox licenses to your managed accounts. From the new Licenses tab on the Configure > ThreatSync+ Integrations > Firebox page, you can assign WatchGuard NDR for Firebox licenses to Fireboxes and FireClusters in your account for ThreatSync+ NDR monitoring.

New Features

DNSWatch in WatchGuard Cloud

You can now manage and configure DNSWatch in WatchGuard Cloud. Existing DNSWatch users can migrate DNSWatch configuration data from the legacy UI to the new DNSWatch in WatchGuard Cloud UI.

With DNSWatch in WatchGuard Cloud, you create DNSWatch configurations to define the settings and filters that DNSWatch uses to determine whether to block a site. Accounts and Fireboxes are subscribed to DNSWatch configurations for enforcement. Fireboxes do not have to be cloud-managed for DNSWatch in WatchGuard Cloud, but they must be added to WatchGuard Cloud for visibility.

Requirements:

• Total Security Suite with DNSWatch enabled in the feature key
• Cloud-managed Firebox or a locally-managed Firebox with cloud reporting enabled

Centralized Notification Management for PSA Ticketing

With this feature, tier-1 Service Providers that integrate Professional Services Automation (PSA) tools with WatchGuard Cloud can centrally configure and manage notifications for PSA ticketing for their managed accounts.

To manage notification rules for PSA ticketing, go to Overview > Administration > PSA Ticketing. The PSA ticketing settings override any PSA ticket options you previously set in Subscriber-level notification rules.

You can now configure deployment of the WatchGuard Agent on your endpoints from a new Configure > Agent Deployment page. For Service Providers, the Agent Deployment page is useful to centrally configure deployment behavior on endpoints when the account has more than one WatchGuard product license. With this feature, tier-1 Service Providers that integrate Professional Services Automation (PSA) tools with WatchGuard Cloud can centrally configure and manage notifications for PSA ticketing for their managed accounts.

To manage notification rules for PSA ticketing, go to Overview > Administration > PSA Ticketing. Account-Level MFA

WatchGuard Cloud administrators can now enable Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for all operators in their account. When you enable account-level MFA, operators who have not activated MFA must authenticate with the AuthPoint mobile app before they can log in. Download Allocation Usage

Service Providers can now download an allocation summary in .CSV format of the license usage in their account and accounts they manage. They can also download a product-specific usage summary for their account and accounts they manage. For more information, go to Manage Inventory in Help Center.

A new WatchGuard product, FireCloud Internet Access, is now available to beta test. FireCloud is a managed cloud-based firewall-as a-service. FireCloud protects your remote users against Internet-based security threats.

Content Scanning

Scanning engines protect against spyware, viruses, malicious applications, spam email, and data leakage.

Network Blocking

You can use FireCloud to monitor and block common security threats, such as botnets, spyware, SQL injections, cross-site scripting, and buffer overflows.

Geolocation

Geolocation is a security service that enables FireCloud to detect the geographic locations of connections to and from your protected devices. In FireCloud, you can enable and configure Geolocation to block access to and from specific locations.

Content Filtering

Content filtering uses the WebBlocker and Application Control security services to block specific content categories and applications.

You configure FireCloud in the WatchGuard Cloud platform, and end-users connect to the service with the WatchGuard Connection Manager. When end-users are connected to FireCloud, FireCloud protects them from threats so that they can safely use their computer and browse the Internet.

ThreatSync+ NDR

ThreatSync+ NDR is a cloud-based, network-centric threat detection and response solution that helps organizations identify, detect, and respond to network-based cyberattacks. It uses advanced artificial intelligence and machine learning capabilities to deliver enterprise-level cyber defense across hybrid networks. To use ThreatSync+ NDR, you must purchase a ThreatSync+ NDR license. You can now manage ThreatSync+ NDR licenses in WatchGuard Cloud. ThreatSync+ NDR extends the existing ThreatSync functionality in WatchGuard Cloud and offers enhanced network detection and response, network device identification, and advanced reporting for Fireboxes, third-party firewalls, and LAN infrastructure. WatchGuard Compliance Reporting

You can now manage Compliance Reporting licenses and generate compliance reports in WatchGuard Cloud. WatchGuard Compliance Reporting provides additional defense goal reports to help prove compliance for audit or cyber insurance purposes. ThreatSync+ NDR provides the network data required by these reports. To use Compliance Reporting, you require a ThreatSync+ NDR license and a Compliance Reporting license. Shared Users and Groups for Directories and Domain Services

WatchGuard Cloud is centralizing user and group management in Directories and Domain Services (previously called Authentication Domains). As part of this change, you can now add WatchGuard Cloud-hosted users and groups to a new authentication domain called the WatchGuard Cloud Directory. Products in WatchGuard Cloud, such as AuthPoint, can use the users and groups that you add to the WatchGuard Cloud Directory.

When you add the WatchGuard Cloud Directory, your existing local AuthPoint users and groups automatically migrate to Directories and Domain Services in WatchGuard Cloud. This does not impact your AuthPoint configuration. You still view and manage the users and groups in AuthPoint.

We also added a new type of AuthPoint user account: non-MFA users. Non-MFA users are users that only authenticate with a password, such as a service account user. Non-MFA users do not consume an AuthPoint user license and cannot authenticate to resources that require MFA. They can only authenticate to protected resources if the non-MFA user account has a password only authentication policy for that resource. When you add new users to the WatchGuard Cloud Directory, you select whether to add non-MFA users or MFA users.

Threat Detection & Response (TDR) is now end of life. The TDR UI in WatchGuard Cloud is no longer available. Host Sensors continue to function, but remediation and report generation is disabled. Multi-tier template support is now publicly available. With this feature, when Tier-1 Service Providers create a template, it is now available to managed accounts and devices in all tiers below them. Devices allocated to accounts below more than one Service Provider can subscribe to templates at any tier above them.

Log Search Notifications are publicly available. This feature provides Log Search and Log Manager improvements:

• You can now click a link to be notified when your log search completes.
• The Log Search page now provides a list of your recent searches and examples of search queries.
• If you select a folder, the search results include Device and Serial Number columns.
• When you export log messages from Log Search or Log Manager, the maximum number of logs that can be exported is now 20,000.

This feature updates the data retention periods for log data:

• For a Firebox with the Total Security Suite, the data retention period for log data for Log Manager and Log Search is 1 year. 10 days of log data (plus the number of days associated with the Data Retention license assigned to the Firebox) is available for fast searches.
• For a Firebox with the Basic Security Suite, the data retention period for Log Manager and Log Search is 90 days. Fast search is not available with Basic Security Suite unless you purchase a Data Retention license.
• WatchGuard implemented the extended data retention period for log data in October 2022. Log data prior to 20 October 2022 is not available.

WatchGuard EDR Core

WatchGuard EDR Core is a new solution available with a Firebox Total Security Suite license. EDR Core includes EDR features and adds XDR capabilities through ThreatSync. It is a replacement for the TDR Host Sensor in WatchGuard Cloud. When a Service Provider activates a Total Security Suite license, the EDR Core license and the number of available endpoints now appear in the Inventory page in WatchGuard Cloud. TDR Upgrade to Endpoint Security Tool

TDR users can upgrade their Host Sensors to EDR Core or another endpoint security license from WatchGuard Cloud. The upgrade process is available for Windows and macOS endpoints only. It automatically installs the WatchGuard Endpoint Agent on the endpoints of the account. You do not have to reinstall the agent or protection software.

Bridged WAN

For increased network design flexibility, you can now configure an external VLAN to have more than one interface member. External VLAN interface members can now be untagged. An interface can now simultaneously belong to both an external and internal VLAN. Intra-VLAN inspection is enabled automatically for external interfaces. With these enhancements, you can now bridge a VLAN between interfaces and create policies that apply to traffic between the interfaces.

SD-WAN Round Robin

With this feature, you can configure SD-WAN actions that use the Round-Robin load balancing method.

Bridged WAN (Beta)

For increased network design flexibility, you can now configure an external VLAN to have more than one interface member. External VLAN interface members can now be untagged. An interface can now simultaneously belong to both an external and internal VLAN. Intra-VLAN inspection is enabled automatically for external interfaces. With these enhancements, you can now bridge a VLAN between interfaces and create policies that apply to traffic between the interfaces.

With this feature, you can add an Active Directory authentication server and configure Active Directory users and groups for authentication. To get started, log in to your WatchGuard Cloud account and enable the Authentication Domain With Active Directory beta toggle.

Threat Detection and Response Integration

Threat Detection and Response (TDR) is now available in WatchGuard Cloud in the Asia Pacific, North American and European regions.
