IMPACT 2026: Powering the Next Evolution of the Unified Security Platform

Discover how WatchGuard is evolving its Unified Security Platform with agentic AI, deeper threat visibility, and secure access for modern cyber risks.

Every year, WatchGuard’s IMPACT partner events give us an opportunity to step back and look at where cybersecurity is headed.

This year, one message resonated throughout every product announcement, partner discussion, and keynote presentation: security teams don't need more tools. They need better ways to operationalize security in an environment where threats are becoming increasingly automated, identities are under constant attack, and AI applications are spreading across organizations faster than governance frameworks can keep up.

For years, WatchGuard has championed a platform approach to cybersecurity through the Unified Security Platform®. The idea has always been simple: bring together network security, endpoint protection, identity security, threat detection, and operational visibility into a single experience that helps MSPs protect customers more effectively.

At IMPACT North America 2026, we unveiled the next evolution of that vision.

By embedding AI-driven intelligence, deeper risk visibility, and integrated security workflows across the platform, we're helping MSPs scale security operations, make faster decisions, and uncover risks that were previously difficult to identify.

The Challenge: More Threats, More Complexity, More AI

Cybersecurity teams are facing pressure from every direction.

Attackers are increasingly using automation and AI to improve the speed and effectiveness of their campaigns. At the same time, organizations continue to adopt new cloud services, SaaS applications, remote access technologies, and now generative AI tools, often without security teams having complete visibility into what's being used or the risks they pose.

The result is a growing gap between the volume of security data organizations collect and their ability to act on it.

Closing that gap requires more than dashboards. It requires intelligence that can understand context, prioritize risk, and help security teams take meaningful action.

Meet the Next Generation of Rai

The centerpiece of this year's announcements was the continued expansion of Rai, WatchGuard's AI-powered digital security workforce built specifically for MSPs.

Unlike traditional security assistants that simply surface information, Rai is designed to help security teams get work done. Unlike traditional security AI that typically assists with individual tasks or products, WatchGuard is building agentic defense across the Unified Security Platform. Rai can draw on intelligence across security domains to investigate threats, assess risk, prioritize what matters, and help drive action. For MSPs, this creates an integrated AI-powered security workforce that works across customer environments, helping teams respond faster, scale expertise, and protect more customers without adding equivalent staff or complexity.

From investigation and prioritization to posture assessment and customer reporting, Rai extends operational capacity across managed environments.

One of the most exciting additions announced at IMPACT is Hey Rai, a conversational AI experience built directly into WatchGuard Cloud.

With Hey Rai, partners can ask natural-language questions such as:

  • Which customers currently have the highest security risk?
  • What incidents require immediate attention?
  • What actions have been taken across my environment?
  • How strong is my overall security posture?

Instead of manually searching across dashboards and security data, operators can ask questions directly and receive clear, contextual answers drawn from across the WatchGuard platform. Analysts can quickly understand risk, identify priorities, and determine the right action.

WatchGuard is also extending Rai through MCP integration, enabling partners to securely connect external AI clients and leverage WatchGuard intelligence inside broader AI-driven workflows.

Moving from Application Visibility to Risk Intelligence

As AI adoption accelerates, organizations need visibility beyond devices and identities.

They need visibility into applications. New open - As SaaS and AI adoption accelerates, simply knowing which applications are in use is no longer enough. Security teams need to understand which applications introduce risk, where exposure exists, and what requires action.

A key innovation showcased at IMPACT is Application Risks, a new capability in WatchGuard Cloud that transforms application telemetry into actionable security intelligence.

Most organizations can generate a list of applications running across their environment.

Far fewer can answer:

  • Which applications create the greatest exposure?
  • Which application categories introduce elevated risk?
  • Which protections should be prioritized?
  • Where are the security gaps?

Application Risks helps answer those questions by classifying applications based on category, exposure level, delivery model, prevalence, and associated risk, then mapping those findings to relevant WatchGuard protections.

The result is a simple journey: See → Understand → Protect.

For MSPs, that means more meaningful security conversations, easier identification of protection gaps, and a more effective way to align security investments with actual risk.

Redefining Modern Firewall Security

The role of the firewall is changing. As applications, users, and threats move beyond the traditional network perimeter, the firewall is evolving from a security enforcement point into a critical source of visibility and intelligence across the security platform. At IMPACT, we introduced several innovations that advance this evolution, including the Firebox T175, Prime Security Suite, WatchGuard Network Management, and new vulnerability scanning capabilities within WatchGuard MDR.
The new Firebox T175 delivers high-performance security with 10G connectivity and multigigabit networking for growing businesses. Prime Security Suite gives partners greater flexibility to align protection with customer requirements, while WatchGuard Network Management expands network visibility and proactive monitoring. New vulnerability scanning capabilities within WatchGuard MDR identify exposures that attackers could exploit.
The evolution also extends beyond traditional network security. Firebox application intelligence can expose previously unseen SaaS and AI usage, bringing Shadow AI out of the shadows and adding another source of risk intelligence to the Unified Security Platform.
Together, these innovations reinforce a new role for the firewall: strong network protection at its core, with visibility and intelligence that make the entire security platform stronger.

Simplifying Secure Access

Security is most effective when people actually use it.

That's why we also introduced the new WatchGuard Access App, bringing together identity security and secure connectivity through a single experience.

Combining AuthPoint and FireCloud into one application, one sign-on experience, and one management portal helps reduce friction for users while simplifying management for MSPs.

The goal is straightforward: stronger security with less complexity.

A Platform That Gets Smarter Together

The most important announcement at IMPACT wasn't any single product.

It was the continued evolution of the Unified Security Platform itself.

When application intelligence informs security decisions, when network visibility strengthens threat detection, when identity data enriches investigation workflows, and when agentic AI helps operators act on that intelligence, the value of each security layer increases.

That's the promise of  WatchGuard’s platform approach.

And with the latest innovations unveiled at IMPACT 2026, WatchGuard is taking the Unified Security Platform into its next chapter: one where AI doesn't just assist security teams, but helps them scale, prioritize, and protect more effectively than ever before.
