WatchGuard EPDR enhances lateral movement protection through Endpoint Access Enforcement

Starting July 1st, WatchGuard EPDR will include a key enhancement to its protection capabilities: the Endpoint Access Enforcement feature, previously available only in Advanced EPDR. This functionality allows you to block incoming connections from unprotected endpoints, helping to mitigate ransomware attacks, a threat that is increasingly affecting organizations of all sizes.

It’s important to note that this option will be disabled by default. Administrators will need to explicitly enable it for it to act as an effective containment measure and provide stronger defense against potential lateral movement by attackers within the network.

With this improvement, WatchGuard EPDR gives customers an additional tool to strengthen their cybersecurity posture without the need to upgrade to a higher-level license.
