DAC Computer Service: From Network Security to Endpoint Protection with WatchGuard

The Challenge

DAC Computer Service is a system integrator based in Italy’s Emilia-Romagna region. The company has over 40 years’ experience of specializing in hardware sales and assistance, system services, leasing, and managed services. With a team of 15 professionals, DAC is known for acting quickly with excellent customer focus. As a WatchGuard partner since 2017, the company started by offering network security solutions with Firebox firewalls. Today, it has installed over 100 of these solutions. At the end of 2024, when the time came to renew its endpoint protection licenses with another vendor, DAC was faced with a strategic choice: to continue with this legacy vendor, which restricted them to multi-year, inflexible contracts, or to evaluate new options that might be more suitable for a market that requires agility and scalability. The experience with solutions that were not cloud-native and the lack of transparency in license management led DAC to look for an alternative.

The Solution

The answer came from within the WatchGuard ecosystem. DAC was already familiar with WatchGuard’s firewall products and appreciated the simplicity, reliability, and clarity of its commercial offering. Therefore, at the end of 2024, DAC expanded its collaboration by introducing the WatchGuard EPDR and Advanced EPDR endpoint protection solutions with a Manufacturing approach. “The WatchGuard console has opened up a whole world to us,” says Filippo Zanetti, co-owner of DAC. “The clarity of the dashboards, the immediately readable aggregated data, the ability to know the exact number of licenses used by customers in real time, and the cloud-native management made all the difference. We have found a simple platform with quick implementation that is highly suitable for SMBs, who represent our main customer base.”

The Results

Adopting WatchGuard’s endpoint protection solutions has led to tangible benefits in both operational and business terms. From a technical standpoint, system engineers like the ease of use and automation of formerly complex, time-consuming processes, such as reporting and alert notifications. From a commercial standpoint, flexible license management means
DAC can invoice more accurately and transparently, increasing profitability and offering customers a higher level of protection. “We can see how enthusiastic our employees and customers are,” concludes Zanetti. “Integrating multiple WatchGuard solutions into a single console gives us full control and means we can offer more advanced services. In the future we aim to complete our service offering with Patch Management, to provide our customers with increasingly complete, managed end-to-end protection.”
