From the Activate Products page on the WatchGuard Portal, you can activate a WatchGuard device or add-on feature. To activate an AuthPoint license, see Activate an AuthPoint License.
To open the Activate Products page:
- Open a web browser and go to https://www.watchguard.com/.
- Log in with your WatchGuard Portal account user name and password.
- If you are a WatchGuard Partner, click Support Center in the Partner portal.
- Select My WatchGuard > Activate Products.
The Activate Products page appears.
Activate a WatchGuard Device
To activate a WatchGuard device:
- In the Enter Serial Number or License Key text box, type the serial number. Make sure to include any hyphens.
- Click Continue.
The Activate Device Wizard starts. - In the Activate a Product Wizard:
- Assign a friendly name for this device.
- (Optional) Select the 30-day free trials of security services you want for this device.
- Accept the End-User License Agreement.
- If requested, select the region for storage of WatchGuard cloud data. Tip!
- Click Finish.
The activation wizard shows a summary of the activated product and associated security services.
After you activate a device, that device appears on the Manage Products page for your account.

Activate a Service, Feature, or Renewal
To activate a service, add-on feature, or renewal:
- In the Enter Serial Number or License Key text box, type the license key for the feature. Make sure to include any hyphens.
- Click Continue.
The Choose Product to Upgrade page appears. - From the drop-down list, select the device for the feature.
- Click Activate.
The Retrieve and Apply Key page appears. - To keep a local copy of the feature key, copy the contents of the feature key to a text file and save it in a convenient location.
- Click Finish.
After you activate a feature, it appears in the Product Details page for the product you selected.
