Remove a FireCluster from WatchGuard Cloud

Applies To: Locally-managed Fireboxes

If you remove a FireCluster from WatchGuard Cloud, the FireCluster is removed from your account completely and you cannot access the data.

You can keep the FireCluster in WatchGuard and remove the FireCluster from cloud management. If you select this option, you must locally manage the FireCluster with Fireware Web UI, WatchGuard System Manager, or the CLI. However, you can continue to monitor the FireCluster in WatchGuard Cloud. For information about removing a FireCluster from cloud management, go to Change the FireCluster Management Type.

To remove a FireCluster from WatchGuard Cloud:

  1. Log in to your WatchGuard Cloud Subscriber account.
    For Service Provider operators, from Account Manager, select My Account.
  2. Select Configure > Devices.
  3. Select the FireCluster.
    The Device Summary appears.

  1. In the Remove FireCluster section, click Remove.
    A confirmation dialog box opens.

  1. Click Remove.
    The cluster is unregistered from your WatchGuard Cloud account.

Firebox Status For a Removed FireCluster

When you remove a FireCluster from WatchGuard Cloud, WatchGuard Cloud remains enabled in the configuration for each Firebox in the cluster. If you do not disable WatchGuard Cloud on the Fireboxes, the Fireboxes continue to attempt to connect. After you remove the FireCluster from your WatchGuard Cloud account, the WatchGuard Cloud status on the Fireboxes changes to Not Connected immediately. After a few minutes, the WatchGuard Cloud status on the Fireboxes changes to Failed Registration.

Data Deletion For a Removed FireCluster

When you remove a FireCluster from your WatchGuard Cloud account, the cluster immediately disappears from the list of devices in your account and you cannot see log and report data for the cluster. WatchGuard deletes log data associated with your cluster from WatchGuard Cloud servers within one day.

Data Retention License For a Removed FireCluster

If the Fireboxes in the cluster had Data Retention licenses assigned to them, the Data Retention licenses become unassigned and are available to assign to another Fireboxes in your account. For more information, go to Manage Data Retention Licenses.
