Access Point Device Password

You can specify an administrator password for Command Line Interface (CLI) access to an access point. This enables you to troubleshoot access point issues and to reset a device to factory default settings from a secure SSH connection to the device.

If you have not yet added the access point to WatchGuard Cloud and set a device password, the default password for the CLI is watchguard.

To set a device password for a cloud-managed access point:

  1. In WatchGuard Cloud, select Configure > Devices.
  2. Select the access point.
  3. Select Device Password.
    The Device Password page opens.
  4. In the Admin Password text box, type a password 8 to 12 characters in length.
  5. Click Update.
