FireboxV and XTMv are Firebox models designed to run in the VMware ESXI or Microsoft Hyper-V environment. These models run the same Fireware OS and can be administered by the same management software as other Fireboxes. You can use WatchGuard System Manager, Fireware Web UI, and the Command Line Interface (CLI) to manage a FireboxV or XTMv virtual machine just as you manage any other Firebox.

FireboxV and XTMv OS Upgrades
The process to upgrade Fireware OS for a FireboxV or XTMv device is the same as for any Firebox. For more information go to Upgrade Fireware OS or WatchGuard System Manager.
You cannot upgrade an XTMv virtual machine from Fireware v11.10.x or lower to Fireware v11.11 or higher.
The XTMv virtual machine for Fireware v11.10.x and lower is 32-bit. The XTMv virtual machine for Fireware v11.11 and higher is 64-bit. As a result, you cannot upgrade an XTMv VM from Fireware v11.10.x or lower to Fireware v11.11 or higher. Instead, you must install a new 64-bit Fireware v11.11 XTMv virtual machine. Then, from Policy Manager, you can move the configuration from the 32-bit XTMv virtual machine to the 64-bit XTMv virtual machine. FireboxV and XTMv Device Upgrades
When you activate your FireboxV or XTMv device, a feature key is generated. The feature key enables the Fireware capabilities for the model you have licensed. The feature key is installed on the Firebox during setup.
To upgrade your FireboxV or XTMv device from one model to another model, you must deploy the virtual machine for the new model and then use Policy Manager to move the configuration from the old model to the new model.
