Troubleshoot WatchGuard Agent Upgrades for WatchGuard Endpoint Security

Applies To: WatchGuard Advanced EPDR, WatchGuard EPDR, WatchGuard EDR, WatchGuard EPP, WatchGuard EDR Core

The WatchGuard Agent handles communication between managed computers on the same network and the WatchGuard server. The agent is installed on each endpoint device or computer. It has low CPU, memory, and bandwidth usage and uses less than 2 MB of data each day.

If a WatchGuard Agent runs a lower software version than other agents that you manage, you can try to force the agent to upgrade to a higher version. You can check the agent version of a specific device from the WatchGuard Endpoint Security management UI. For more information, go to Determine the Software Version.

To try to force the agent to upgrade to a higher version, use the PSInfo Force Sync tool to refresh the agent communication with your endpoint security product. When the sync occurs, the tool runs tasks that refresh configurations, update signatures, and refresh policies.

If the issue persists after you force a sync, or if the issue is present in multiple agents, open a case with Support. When you create the case, make sure to collect advanced logs to help Support find out what the issue is.
