WatchGuard Full Encryption Requirements

WatchGuard Full Encryption supports computers that run these Windows operating systems:
- Microsoft Windows 7 (Ultimate, Enterprise)
- Microsoft Windows 8/8.1 (Pro, Enterprise)
- Microsoft Windows 10 (Pro, Enterprise, Education)
- Microsoft Windows 11 (Pro, Enterprise, Education)
- Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 and higher (includes Server Core editions)
Full Encryption supports computers that have these hardware requirements:
- Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 1.2 and higher (if used to authenticate)
- USB key and a computer that can read USB drives from the BIOS (Windows 7)
Manage Computers with Full Encryption
To manage computers with Full Encryption, the computers must:
- Meet the requirements described in this topic.
- To establish the encryption of connected drives, successfully receive, at least once, settings from the Full Encryption management UI.
Supported Storage Devices
Full Encryption supports these internal storage devices:
- Fixed storage drives on a computer (system and data)
- Used storage space on virtual hard drives (VHD)
- Removable hard drives
- USB drives
Full Encryption does not support these storage devices:
- Dynamic hard drives
- Small partitions
- Other external storage devices
When You Uninstall the WatchGuard Endpoint Agent
If you uninstall the WatchGuard Endpoint Agent from an encrypted drive, the drive remains in its current state, but you lose centralized access to recovery keys. However, if you reinstall the agent to the drive, the reinstallation provides access to the most recent recovery key.
