About Tasks
Applies To: Endpoint Security Elite, Endpoint Security 360, Endpoint Security Prime, WatchGuard EDR, Endpoint Security Basic
In Endpoint Security on the Tasks page, you can create tasks to scan the computers and devices on your network for malicious programs and viruses, install patches, or scan computers for Indicators of Compromise (IOCs) (Endpoint Security Elite only). For information on how to search for IOCs, go to Create an IOC Search Task.
Patch Management uses tasks to install patches and updates. For more information, go to Install Patches.
Your operator role determines what you can see and do in WatchGuard Cloud. Your role must have the Launch Scans and Disinfect permission to view or configure this feature. For more information, go to Manage WatchGuard Cloud Operators and Roles.
To open the Tasks page:
- In WatchGuard Cloud, select Monitor > Endpoint Security.
- Select Tasks.
You can configure tasks to run immediately or at a later time. Tasks can run once or repeatedly through specified time intervals.
You can also start a scan or schedule a scan for a specific device in the Computers list. For more information, go to Scan Computers and Devices.
These are the high-level steps to run a scheduled scan task:
- Create and configure the task. For information, go to Create a Scheduled Scan Task.
- Publish the task. For information, go to Publish a Task.
- Execute the task. When the configured conditions are met, Endpoint Security runs the task. For information on how to view the results, go to Review Task Results.
