WatchGuard periodically distributes upgrades for Fireware OS and WatchGuard System Manager. To keep your network secure, WatchGuard recommends that you install the latest available versions of Fireware OS and WatchGuard System Manager. If you use WatchGuard System Manager to manage your Firebox, you must upgrade WatchGuard System Manager before you upgrade the Fireboxes it manages.

You can also add upgrades to your Firebox to enable additional subscription services, capacity, and support. For a list of available upgrade options, go to https://www.watchguard.com/wgrd-products/utm/overview#utm-security-modules.
As your network and security needs change, you might also want to upgrade to a newer Firebox and migrate your existing Firebox configuration.

You cannot downgrade a Firebox to a version of Fireware lower than Fireware v12.1.3 Update 8, v12.5.9 Update 2, or v12.7.2 Update 2, based on your device model.
