WIPS Dashboard

The WIPS Dashboard displays an overview of WIPS (Wireless Intrusion Prevention System) activity on your wireless network.

To see the WIPS Dashboard, select Dashboard, then select the WIPS tab.

The WIPS Dashboard includes widgets to provide detailed information about wireless connectivity status:

Security Status

The Security Status widget indicates which locations in your network are vulnerable and have live security alerts. An alert is raised at the location of the device that triggers the alert.

Live Security Alerts

The Live Security Alerts widget indicates the current number of live security alerts for your Wi-Fi network. Click the number to see detailed information on the live alerts.

Automatic Intrusion Prevention

When Automatic Intrusion Prevention is enabled, this automatically enforces your Wi-Fi security policy and prevents unauthorized Wi-Fi devices from communicating with your secure enterprise network. Disable Automatic Intrusion Prevention if you experience issues with known clients or APs that are prevented from connecting to the Wi-Fi network.

Make sure your Wi-Fi network deployment is stable, fully configured, and APs and clients are correctly classified before you enable Automatic Intrusion Prevention.

To turn on Automatic Intrusion Prevention, click the drop-down list, then click Activate.

To turn off Automatic Intrusion Prevention, click the drop-down list, then click Deactivate.

You can apply the setting recursively to sub-folder locations of the current selected folder.

Alerts

When Alerts is set to ON, Wi-Fi Cloud will send alerts for the events that you have configured. For more information, see Configure Alerts.

Switch to OFF to disable alerts. This is useful in cases where your Wi-Fi network is not fully configured or deployed, and you want to temporarily turn off alert notifications.

To turn off alerts, click the Alerts drop-down list, then click Deactivate.

To turn on alerts, click the Alerts drop-down list, then click Activate. This will activate the alerts you have configured.

You can optionally apply the setting recursively to sub-folder locations of the current selected folder.

Access Point Classification

The Access Point Classification widget displays a horizontal bar graph of AP classifications on your network.

  • Hover over the graph bar in the chart to see the details of total APs, and active and inactive APs for the selected classification.
  • Click on a graph bar to see a list of all APs with the selected classification.

You can choose to show All, Active, or Inactive devices from the drop-down list located on the top-right corner of the widget.

Client Classification

The Client Classification widget displays a horizontal bar graph of visible client classifications on your network.

  • Hover over the graph bar in the chart to see the details of total clients, and active and inactive clients for the selected classification.
  • Click on a graph bar to see a list of all clients with the selected classification.

You can choose to show All, Active, or Inactive devices from the drop-down list located on the top-right corner of the widget.

Intrusion Prevention Status

The Intrusion Prevention Status widget displays the current intrusion prevention status of APs and clients on your network.

Managed Devices

The Managed Devices widget displays the types of managed devices in your control on your Wi-Fi network, including APs, AP-Sensor combos, dedicated Sensors, and Network Detectors.

  • Hover over the graph bar in the chart to see the details of total managed devices, and active and inactive devices for the selected type.
  • Click on a graph bar to see a list of all APs for the selected type.

You can choose to show All, Active, or Inactive devices from the drop-down list located on the top-right corner of the widget.

Top Locations by Security Alerts

The Top Locations by Security Alerts widget displays the top locations for security alerts over the specified time interval.

  • Hover over the graph bar in the chart to see the total number of alerts for the location.
  • Click on a graph bar to see a list of the details for all alerts for the selected location.

You can select the time interval from the drop-down list located on the top-right corner of the widget.

Top Security Alert Categories

The Top Security Alert Categories widget displays the top security categories (for example, Rogue APs) for alerts in specified time interval.

  • Hover over the graph bar in the chart to see the total number of alerts for the category.
  • Click on a graph bar to see a list of the details all alerts for the selected category.

You can select the time interval from the drop-down list located on the top-right corner of the widget.
