Mobile Security

Applies To: Locally-managed Fireboxes

WatchGuard announced the deprecation of FireClient and Mobile Security in 2019. The FireClient app is no longer available for download from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Some references to Mobile Security remain in Fireware Web UI and Policy Manager. We will remove them in a future release.

Mobile Security is a security service that enables you to set and enforce security requirements for iOS and Android mobile devices that connect to your network. When Mobile Security is enabled, the Firebox only allows traffic from mobile devices that comply with your configured Mobile Security device compliance settings. On the Firebox, you can use mobile device groups to create policies for traffic to or from these mobile device types.

To verify mobile device compliance, users must install and run WatchGuard FireClient on an Android or iOS device. FireClient checks the device for compliance with the Mobile Security requirements you configure on the Firebox.
