Exchange Server Protection and Low Spam Detection

If you use Exchange Server protection and experience low detection rates of spam, a hotfix is available to address the issue.

Exchange Server protection is end-of-life and no longer included in WatchGuard and Panda accounts. For information about the WatchGuard end-of-life policy, go to the WatchGuard Trust Center.

The hotfix installs a cloud-based detection engine that improves spam detection. The hotfix is available at:

After you install the detection engine, make sure that your firewall or proxy environment allows connections to this URL:

  • eu-api.mailscan.cloudfilter.net

Report Feedback About a Message

After you apply the hotfix, save any false negative or false positive message in the .EML format, which follows the Internet RFC 822 specification (external link), and send the message to the relevant email address:

  • Report any false negative email messages to [email protected].
A false negative (or missed spam) email message is a spam message that is not correctly identified as spam.
  • Report any false positive email messages to Support at [email protected].
A false positive email message is a legitimate message that is incorrectly identified as spam.
