Verify Communication Ports

Applies To: WatchGuard Advanced EPDR, WatchGuard EPDR, WatchGuard EDR, WatchGuard EPP, WatchGuard EDR Core

WatchGuard Endpoint Security products require that your firewall is configured to allow incoming and outgoing traffic on Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) port 18226 and User Datagram Protocol (UDP) port 21226. Endpoint security products use these ports to establish communication with an endpoint agent.

To verify that your Windows computer allows communication on these ports:

  1. Press the Windows key + R.
  2. Type cmd and press the Enter key.
A Windows Command Prompt window opens.
  3. At the command prompt, type:
    telnet <destination device name> 18226
  4. At the command prompt, type:
    telnet <destination device IP address> 18226

If you are not able to connect to the destination device, contact Support.
