Eric Aarrestad, Vice President of Marketing, brings 20 years of business and executive leadership experience to WatchGuard. Prior to joining WatchGuard, Aarrestad served as Director of Worldwide Marketing for Microsoft in the Mobile Communications Business. In that role he led global product and business segment marketing from incubation to a $300M+ commercial business group. His responsibilities included developing Microsoft's worldwide business group organizations and successful growth of Microsoft's mobile software platform, application, messaging, and infrastructure assets. Prior to joining Microsoft Aarrestad served as the Vice President of Marketing at Sightward where he was responsible for marketing and business development related to the company's predictive analytics and hosted services solutions. Before joining Sightward, he served as Director of Product Marketing for N2H2, helping guide the content delivery company to a successful IPO. Aarrestad previously worked as a management consultant in the business strategy, operations and M&A practice at Edgar, Dunn & Company in San Francisco, California.
Matt Deichman became vice president of business development in 2007, after serving as chief information officer at WatchGuard. In this new role, he is responsible for managing OEM and licensing relationships, developing new strategic relationships, and exploring M&A opportunities to support the company's long-range growth and profitability objectives. Prior to joining WatchGuard, Matt was general manager at RealNetworks, where he successfully negotiated with media companies including ABC, BBC, CNN, NFL, MLB, NBA, Disney, and C-Span to monetize their content utilizing the company platform. He also served as vice president of technology solutions for a leading professional services firm where he was responsible for a $60M line of business and several successful acquisitions. During his extensive career in the high tech industry, Matt has held positions at McCaw Cellular Communications and AT&T Wireless. An accomplished speaker, he has presented lectures at a number of industry trade shows and conferences, including Digital Hollywood and Consumer Electronics Show.
Chris McKie brings 18 years of technology communications experience to WatchGuard. McKie is chartered with driving WatchGuard's global AR and PR activities, as well as industry compliance communications and social media outreach. Prior to joining WatchGuard, McKie managed Cisco's wireless networking and mobility business units' PR. His areas of expertise include social media, IT security, wireless technology, and governance, risk and compliance (GRC). He has numerous articles published on topics ranging from extensible threat management to Regulation FD. He holds a J.D. in Law and B.S. in Public Relations.
Corey Nachreiner has been with WatchGuard since 1999 and has since written more than a thousand concise security alerts and easily-understood educational articles for WatchGuard users. His security training videos have generated hundreds of letters of praise from thankful customers and accumulated more than 100,000 views on YouTube and Google Video. A Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Corey speaks internationally and is often quoted by other online sources, including C|NET, eWeek, and Slashdot. Corey enjoys "modding" any technical gizmo he can get his hands on, and considers himself a hacker in the old sense of the word.
Brendan Patterson is a senior product manager at WatchGuard Technologies, with responsibility for the WatchGuard suite of security services. Brendan is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) with over 10 years experience in security and networking technologies. Prior to WatchGuard, Brendan was Vice President of Marketing at The PowerTech Group, a leader in enterprise security solutions for IBM mid-range servers. He was instrumental in expanding the product line and the successful launch of two new regulatory compliance products. He previously held product management positions at GoAhead Software, a leading provider of High Availability and Management middleware, and Webforia, an Internet portal company. Brendan has a master's degree in the Management of Technology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, Mass., and a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the National University of Ireland.
As the director of global field and channel marketing, Mark Romano holds the responsibility for the health, growth, and diversity of the sales channel. A veteran of the high tech industry, Mark has over 20 years experience in positions ranging from product manager to the director of marketing for a number of companies including WatchGuard Technologies, American Honda Motor Company, Hewlett Packard, Dell, Hitachi, and Motorola. As a leader at WatchGuard, Mark provides insight and depth of knowledge in developing and enhancing a global distribution channel while providing demand generation to support the growth of the company.
