Eric Aarrestad is a senior business executive with over 18 years of marketing and business development experience in the software and services industry. Prior to joining WatchGuard, Eric served as director of product marketing and worldwide marketing for Microsoft in the Mobile and Embedded Devices Division. There he led the global product and business segment marketing strategy and execution from early stage start up to a $300M+ P&L business group. While at Microsoft, he led mobile business application, messaging, and security and infrastructure marketing and execution. As vice president of marketing at Sightward, Eric was responsible for the launch of the company's predictive analytics and hosted services solutions. Prior to Sightward, he served as director of product marketing for N2H2 and as a management consultant in the strategy practice at Edgar, Dunn & Company in San Francisco, California.
Matt Deichman became vice president of business development in 2007, after serving as chief information officer at WatchGuard. In this new role, he is responsible for managing OEM and licensing relationships, developing new strategic relationships, and exploring M&A opportunities to support the company's long-range growth and profitability objectives. Prior to joining WatchGuard, Matt was general manager at RealNetworks, where he successfully negotiated with media companies including ABC, BBC, CNN, NFL, MLB, NBA, Disney, and C-Span to monetize their content utilizing the company platform. He also served as vice president of technology solutions for a leading professional services firm where he was responsible for a $60M line of business and several successful acquisitions. During his extensive career in the high tech industry, Matt has held positions at McCaw Cellular Communications and AT&T Wireless. An accomplished speaker, he has presented lectures at a number of industry trade shows and conferences, including Digital Hollywood and Consumer Electronics Show.
Tim Helming has over eight years of experience in the network security industry. Drawing on direct hands-on experience as a support engineer, as well as extensive customer interaction and market research as a product manager, Tim has worked with IT administrators, Managed Security Services providers, and security resellers all over the world to drive WatchGuard's product development process. Tim's background and perspective, along with an outstanding team of product managers, help WatchGuard to develop highly effective and easy to use products for security, connectivity, user management, and network visibility. Tim holds a B.A with honors from Yale University.
Tracy Hillstrom is senior product manager for WatchGuard Technologies, and is responsible for the WatchGuard Suite of UTM (unified threat management) and XTM (extensible threat management) product offerings. Tracy has worked for more than 11 years in product management for technology companies utilizing her expertise in automatic data collection, network security, and wireless technologies. She has published articles on current network security topics including wireless and mobile security for such publications as SC Magazine and Security Matters Magazine online and is an often-requested speaker for industry events. Tracy earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois and an MBA from the University of Iowa.
Chris McKie brings more than 15 years communications experience to WatchGuard Technologies. He is responsible for directing WatchGuard’s global analyst and public relations strategy and outreach, as well as corporate reputation management among new media and social networking forums. Before joining WatchGuard, Chris managed PR for Cisco Systems' wireless and mobility networking solutions. His accomplishments include developing award-winning agency and in-house communications campaigns for a variety of Silicon Valley start-ups and global tech giants, including: Acer, Hitachi, Logitech and Lotus. Over the years, Chris has had numerous articles published, on topics ranging from extensible threat management to Regulation FD. He holds a B.S. in Public Relations from San Jose State University and a juris doctor in Law from Lincoln Law School of San Jose.
Lowell Millard has been an IT leader in the SMB market for the past 23 years. He is currently the Director of IT at WatchGuard Technologies. Lowell has worked extensively to establish strong business processes, lead business system deployments, and provide the supporting infrastructure. He has used the pervasive nature of IT to be a strategic business leader. Lowell has a BA in Business Administration from Western Washington University, is an APICS certified CPIM, and is on the board of the Seattle chapter of the Society for Information Management.
Corey Nachreiner has been with WatchGuard since 1999 and has since written more than a thousand concise security alerts and easily-understood educational articles for WatchGuard users. His security training videos have generated hundreds of letters of praise from thankful customers and accumulated more than 100,000 views on YouTube and Google Video. A Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Corey speaks internationally and is often quoted by other online sources, including C|NET, eWeek, and Slashdot. Corey enjoys "modding" any technical gizmo he can get his hands on, and considers himself a hacker in the old sense of the word.
Bryan Nairn is responsible for all stand-alone security products at WatchGuard Technologies, guiding them from market introduction through end-of-life. He is an information security expert with more than 12 years of experience in engineering, product marketing, and product management. As an engineer he helped Fortune 500 companies design, implement and manage secure infrastructures containing authentication, authorization and encryption technologies. As a product professional Bryan defines, positions, introduces, and manages award-winning products that delight customers. He has published numerous articles and authored materials for the book "The Secured Enterprise: Protecting Your Information Assets." Bryan is also a featured speaker at information security events throughout the world.
As the director of global field and channel marketing, Mark Romano holds the responsibility for the health, growth, and diversity of the sales channel. A veteran of the high tech industry, Mark has over 20 years experience in positions ranging from product manager to the director of marketing for a number of companies including WatchGuard Technologies, American Honda Motor Company, Hewlett Packard, Dell, Hitachi, and Motorola. As a leader at WatchGuard, Mark provides insight and depth of knowledge in developing and enhancing a global distribution channel while providing demand generation to support the growth of the company.
