Cannot Save an AuthPoint Group Sync or Advanced Query

Applies To: AuthPoint Multi-Factor Authentication, AuthPoint Total Identity Security

When you configure an LDAP external identity and add a group sync or advanced query to sync users, no AuthPoint groups are available and you cannot save the group sync or advanced query.

Symptoms

  • In the Add Group Sync window, the Select an AuthPoint Group drop-down list is empty
  • You cannot add a group sync or advanced query for an LDAP external identity

Diagnostic Steps

  1. Log in to WatchGuard Cloud.
  2. Go to Configure > Directories and Domain Services.
  3. Make sure the WatchGuard Cloud Directory exists.
  4. Make sure at least one group has been added to the WatchGuard Cloud Directory.

Possible Causes and Solutions

Possible Cause Solution
You have not added the WatchGuard Cloud Directory authentication domain

In WatchGuard Cloud, go to Configure > Directories and Domain Services and add the WatchGuard Cloud Directory. The WatchGuard Cloud Directory is required even for LDAP external identities.

No groups have been added to the WatchGuard Cloud Directory

In WatchGuard Cloud, go to Configure > Directories and Domain Services and add at least one group to the WatchGuard Cloud Directory.
