Configure the Port Used for FireCloud Connections
Applies To: FireCloud Internet Access, FireCloud Total Access
By default, FireCloud uses UDP port 4500 to communicate with WatchGuard points of presence (PoP). This is the default port for both the FireCloud Connection Manager and FireCloud Gateways.
To configure FireCloud to use a different communication port for the FireCloud Connection Manager or the FireCloud Virtual and Firebox Gateways:
- Log in to WatchGuard Cloud and go to Configure > FireCloud.
- Select Network Configuration.
- Select the FireCloud Port Selection tab.
-
From the Connection Manager Port or Gateway Port drop-down list, select the port to use for that FireCloud agent. For the Connection Manager, if you want FireCloud to automatically select which of the preset ports to use based on availability, select Automatically selected port. With this option, the Connection Manager verifies which of the preset ports that FireCloud uses are open and uses the first one available.
The custom port selection setting does not apply to the Server Gateway.
- Click Save.
The port changes take effect the next time a session is refreshed. This might happen when the Connection Manager or a Gateway cannot connect and refresh to verify if there is a different port to use.
To manually refresh a session:
- For the Connection Manager, disconnect and then reconnect
- For a Virtual Gateway, reboot the server the Gateway is installed on
- For a Firebox Gateway, reboot the Firebox
