Trello Integration with WatchGuard CloudDR

Trello is a web-based project management and collaboration tool that enables individuals and teams to organize tasks and projects with a system of boards, lists, and cards. This guide describes how to integrate Trello with CloudDR.

Prerequisites

To configure this integration, you must have a Trello workspace admin account or a Trello user account with the these permissions:

Scope Use
read Read Trello workspace information.
account Read account information.

While CloudDR can detect issues with Trello Free and Standard subscriptions, you can mitigate these issues only with a Trello Premium or higher subscription.

You also must create an API key and API token for the Trello workspace with this user account.

To generate an API key:

  1. Log in to Trello with the user account with the required permissions.
  2. Go to https://trello.com/power-ups/admin.
  3. In the Power-Ups and Integrations section, click New.
  4. In the App Name text box, enter a name for the app.
  5. From the Workspace drop-down list, select your workspace.
  6. In the Email text box and the Support Email text box, add the email address for the user with the required permissions.
  7. In the Author text box, add the name of the user with the required permissions.
  8. Click Create.
    The API Key page opens.
  9. Click Generate a New API Key.
    The Generate API Key dialog box opens.
  10. Click Generate API Key.
  11. Copy the API Key.

To generate an API token:

  1. Log in to Trello with the user account with the required permissions.
  2. Go to https://trello.com/power-ups/admin.
  3. Select the power-up you created previously.
  4. Select API Key.
  5. On the API Key page, click the Token link.
    The application access confirmation page opens.
  6. Click Allow.
  7. Copy the generated API token.

Configure the Trello Integration in CloudDR

To configure the Trello integration in CloudDR:

  1. In WatchGuard Cloud, select Configure > CloudDR.
  2. Select the Integrations tab.
  3. (Service Providers) From the Select Integrations View drop-down list, select Add Integrations.

  1. In the Trello widget, click Add.
  2. Click Start Integration.
  3. In the Namespace text box, enter the workspace name from your Trello URL. This is the part of the URL after trello.com/w/. For example, if your URL is https://trello.com/w/example, enter example.
  4. Click Next.
  5. In the API Key text box, paste the API key that you copied previously.
  6. Click Next.
  7. In the API Token text box, paste the API token that you copied previously.
  8. Click Submit.
