Jira Integration with WatchGuard CloudDR

Jira is a project management tool from Atlassian that helps teams plan, track, and manage their work. You can integrate Jira with a variety of other tools to streamline workflows and improve efficiency. This guide describes how to integrate Jira with CloudDR.

Prerequisites

To configure this integration, you must have:

  • A Jira Standard plan or higher
  • A Jira user account with the Organization Admin, Jira Admin, and Jira User roles
  • All internal user domains verified in Atlassian Guard
  • An API token
  • An API key

To generate the API token:

  1. Log in to Jira with the user account with the required roles.
  2. Click your profile image and select Account Settings.
  3. Select the Security tab.
  4. Click Create and Manage API tokens.
  5. On the API Tokens page, click Create API Token.
  6. Enter a descriptive name for the API token. Click Create.
  7. Copy the generated API token. Click Done.

To generate the API key:

  1. Log in to Jira with the user account with the required roles.
  2. Go to Atlassian Administration.
  3. Select Organization Settings > API Keys.
  4. Click Create Your API Key.
  5. Select API Key without Scopes.
  6. Click Next.
  7. Enter a descriptive name for the API key.
  8. Click Next.
  9. Click Create API Key.
  10. Copy the generated API key. Click Done.

Configure the Jira Integration in CloudDR

To configure the Jira integration in CloudDR:

  1. In WatchGuard Cloud, select Configure > CloudDR.
  2. Select the Integrations tab.
  3. (Service Providers) From the Select Integrations View drop-down list, select Add Integrations.

  1. In the Jira widget, click Add.
  2. Click Start Integration.
  3. In the Namespace text box, enter the workspace name from your Jira URL. This is the part of the URL before .atlassian.net. For example, if your URL is https://example.atlassian.net, enter example.
  4. Click Next.
  5. In the Email text box, enter the email address for the user account you created the token with.
  6. Click Next.
  7. In the API Token text box, paste the API token that you copied previously.
  8. Click Next.
  9. In the API Key text box, paste the API key that you copied previously.
  10. Select the Atlassian organization you want to integrate.
  11. Click Submit.
