Activate a Device or Service at WatchGuard.com

After you purchase a service, add-on feature, or renewal license from an authorized reseller, you must activate the product at WatchGuard.com.

When you activate a device or service, it is available immediately for allocation and configuration.

License activation for devices and software goes through regulatory checks. If your activation is rejected and you think this was in error, contact WatchGuard Customer Care.

Open the Activate Products Page

1. Open a web browser and go to https://myproducts.watchguard.com/activate.
2. Log in with your WatchGuard account and password.
3. If you are a WatchGuard Partner, click Support Center in the Partner portal.
4. Select My WatchGuard > Activate Products.
   The Activate Products page opens.

Activate a Service, Feature, or Renewal

The device feature key enables all software features and upgrades that you have activated for a device.

To activate a service, add-on feature, or renewal, from the Activate Products page:

1. In the Enter a Serial Number or License Key text box, enter the license key for the feature. Make sure to include any hyphens.
2. Click Next.
   The Add Product Details page opens.
3. From the drop-down list, select the device for the feature (not required for WSM license activations).
4. In the Compliance section, select an option. License activation goes through regulatory checks for export compliance.
   • I am activating this product for my organization — Select this option when you want to activate the product for your organization. The account must include a valid billing address.
   • I am activating this product for another organization, as a reseller or intermediary — Select this option when you want to activate the product for an account you manage. You must enter the address of the end-user business.
5. Click Activate.
   The Retrieve and Apply Key page opens.
6. To keep a local copy of the feature key, copy the contents of the feature key to a text file and save it in a convenient location.
7. Click Finish.

Activation of an MSSP license can take some time to complete. Do not enter a second license key until the first license is activated. If you enter a second license before the first key has completed activation, a Resource Locked error can occur.

After you activate a feature, it shows on the Product Details page for the product you selected. You can renew a license from the Product Details page or directly on the Manage Products page.
