Manually Map ConnectWise RMM and WatchGuard Cloud Accounts

In the onboarding application, on the Map Clients page, Vendor Client column shows the ConnectWise RMM clients returned by the ConnectWise RMM API. In the WatchGuard Client column, you select the WatchGuard Cloud account you want to map to each ConnectWise RMM client. Only accounts with a valid product license show in the WatchGuard Client drop-down list. The provided scripts are used to automate agent installation when you have manually mapped accounts to the custom fields.

To map the ConnectWise RMM vendor client with a WatchGuard Cloud account, from the onboarding application:

  1. Select Map Clients.
The Map Clients page opens. The page can take a few minutes to load.

To filter the list to only show Vendor Clients that are not currently mapped, enable Show only unassociated clients. To search for a specific vendor account, enter a client name in the Search box.

  1. From the WatchGuard Client drop-down list, select the WatchGuard Cloud managed account to associate with the selected ConnectWise RMM client account.
  • The WatchGuard Cloud ID column shows the WatchGuard Cloud account ID of the selected account.
  • The License column shows the product license information for the selected WatchGuard account.
  1. (Endpoint Security licenses only) From the Network Settings for Installation drop-down list, select the network settings profile to assign to this client.

For clients with an Endpoint Security product license, the network settings contain the necessary network information such as proxies, cache, and discovery services required to install the Endpoint Security product, and are configured in the Endpoint Security product management UI. For information on network settings profiles, go to Configure Network Settings in the Endpoint Security Help.

  1. Click Save.
  2. Click OK.
  3. Repeat these steps for all Connectwise RMM companies you want to map. When you finish, close the onboarding application.

After you save the mappings, the plug-in calls the API to automatically create and update these custom fields in the ConnectWise RMM:

  • WatchGuard Account ID (Service Provider account ID)
  • WatchGuard Token (API key)

Troubleshooting

If your WatchGuard managed accounts do not appear in the WatchGuard Client list for an account, check the following:

  • The account has an active product license for one of these WatchGuard Cloud products:
    • FireCloud
    • Advanced Endpoint Protection Detection and Response (Advanced EPDR)
    • Endpoint Protection Detection and Response (EPDR)
    • Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR)
    • Endpoint Detection and Response Core (EDR Core)
    • Endpoint Protection Platform (EPP)
  • The account has users or endpoints allocated from the product license.
  • You have users or endpoints available for allocation or an unlimited license (that is, the account is not overallocated).
