WatchGuard achieves clean sweep in 2021 CRN Vendor Survey
WatchGuard Technologies topped all four core categories - in some cases by a sizeable margin – in the 2021 UK CRN Vendor Survey. In addition to scoring highest in Technology Leadership, Channel Strategy and Account Management, Margins, Leads and Incentives and Training and Accreditation, WatchGuard also topped the bonus Loyalty and Satisfaction Indices and was one of only two vendors to score not a single wholly negative written comment in any category.
The CRN Vendor Report aims to provide quantitative and qualitative feedback on how the world’s top vendors stack up in the eyes of resellers, MSPs, CSPs and consultancies. CRN surveyed 335 execs from UK channel partners and the report encompasses almost 10,000 raw scores and over 4,000 ‘no-holds-barred, written comments on the UK channel’s 45 most widely carried vendors.
“If WatchGuard’s performance in this report were set to a Bond theme, it would be Carly Simon’s Nobody Does It Better,” said the report’s author. The report concluded, “It’s rare for a vendor to garner such universally positive feedback from respondents in this report. Not only did WatchGuard net scores of 7 or more from every respondent across all four categories, but the high scores were also normally backed up by glowing testimonials.”
In the Technology Leadership category WatchGuard topped the table with an 8.4 average score, with respondents painting it as a forward-thinking, assiduous and cost-effective ally, with one praising it for “always trying to improve [its] offerings” and another billing its products as “fantastic”.
When it comes to Channel Strategy and Account Management, WatchGuard topped this category by a “colossal margin”, with its average score of 9.4, a whole 1.9 marks ahead of the chasing pack. One IT solutions provider respondent noted that WatchGuard yields, “a fantastic margin of around 20 per cent,” while the boss of a small MSP said the vendor, “looks after partners that proactively push its products”.
