As the pandemic continues and employees are finding themselves “stuck at home” for the foreseeable future, companies are coming up with new ways to approach overall wellbeing for their employees.
Things like breakroom snacks, on-site gyms, and commuting passes are less appealing and don’t make a lot of sense. So, companies are getting creative in the ways they support their employees during remote work.
Here are some of our favorite examples:
- Fast, a San Francisco-based software company, hired a personal trainer for the entire company. Services include exercise classes, nutritional and mental health guidance and even advice on improving sleep.
- Some companies are offering monetary perks like Dropbox, a file-hosting firm, that is offering employees a $7,000 a year allowance for “home-office amenities” or Million Dollar Baby Co., who gives employees $700 for paid-vacation trips.

- A study by Care.com found that 63% of companies said they plan to increase their company’s existing childcare benefits to support their employees now balancing their work while helping their children with virtual school.
- A PwC study found that many employees are interested in a hybrid working structure. 66% of companies surveyed said they plan to offer greater work flexibility.
