Specify a Maximum Transmission Unit for FireCloud

You can now configure a custom maximum transmission unit (MTU) for FireCloud. The MTU determines the largest size of data packet that can be sent without being broken up. By default, the FireCloud MTU is 1420. [SASE-6639]

Kerberos Authentication Resources

To give remote FireCloud users access to local resources on the company network that require Kerberos authentication, you can now add Kerberos Authentication resources. [SASE-5450]

FireCloud User Session Verification

On shared computers, when a user logs in to the computer the Connection Manager now compares the login to the current active FireCloud session. If the login is not from the same user account, the Connection Manager ends the active session and prompts the new user to connect to FireCloud. This ensures that FireCloud can apply the correct access rules and report data for each user on the shared computer. [SASE-5021]

You can now install FireCloud Gateways on Windows servers. With a Server Gateway, you can give remote FireCloud users access to a Windows server and resources on the server, such as SMB shares. A Server Gateway cannot give access to network resources that are not on the server.

Tunnel Bypass in FireCloud

With this feature, you can configure the traffic from specific IP addresses and networks to not go through the FireCloud tunnel and instead go directly to the internet. You can use this feature to configure a tunnel bypass for streaming services to avoid latency, or for trusted internal addresses and destinations your organization requires a direct connection for.

New Features

Use Fireboxes as FireCloud Gateways

You can now set up a Firebox as a FireCloud Gateway to give users access to local resources on the company network without a VPN. With a Firebox Gateway, FireCloud runs as a service that is already installed on the Firebox, so configuration is minimal, and you do not have to deploy the gateway the way you do with a FireCloud Virtual Gateway.

This feature requires Fireware v12.12 or v2026.2 or higher.

Move Resources Between Gateways

You can now easily move private resources from one FireCloud Gateway to another. This makes it easier to deploy a new Gateway or Gateway type, such as a Firebox Gateway. [SASE-5347]

• When you add or edit an access rule and add groups from the WatchGuard Cloud Directory, the UI now shows all available groups. This resolves an issue that previously limited the UI to only show 20 groups. [SASE-5725]
• The menu for individual private resources now includes the option to add the resource to an access rule. This option was previously only available when you selected multiple resources. [SASE-5944]
• In the Usage Report, connection events for a specific user now display the time based on the local time for that user. [SASE-5788]

Store Log Files for the Virtual Gateway

With the Virtual Gateway v1.4.8 or higher, you can configure the Gateway to store local log files for troubleshooting. To do this, you create a second hard disk and attach it to the Virtual Gateway. When the Gateway is powered back on after the disk is attached, it formats and copies log files to the disk. For more information, go to About FireCloud Virtual Gateways. [SASE-4493]

Support for Dynamic SQL Port Ranges

When you add a private resource, you can now select preconfigured protocols and port ranges. For example, you can select Microsoft Dynamic SQL to allow all the entire range of ports (49512 - 65535). This makes it easier to configure traffic settings for private resources. [SASE-4544]

Virtual Gateway Support for Proxmox

The FireCloud Virtual Gateway now officially supports Proxmox v8.4 and Proxmox v9.0. When you add a Virtual Gateway, you can now select Proxmox for your environment. [SASE-4473]

• When you change from the AuthPoint identity provider to another identity provider option, the UI now notifies you that the change will delete your existing access rules. This gives you the chance to cancel your action if you no longer want to change identity providers. [SASE-4880]

Support for MFA Users with the WatchGuard Cloud Directory

When you configure the WatchGuard Cloud Directory as your FireCloud identity provider, this now supports both MFA and non-MFA users. This enables you to more easily integrate FireCloud with AuthPoint and Zero Trust through the WatchGuard Cloud Directory. [AAAS-27864]

Passwordless Authentication for FireCloud

With this feature, FireCloud can support SAML identity providers that use methods such as biometrics (fingerprints, facial recognition) or hardware security keys to authenticate users in place of a password.

AuthPoint IDP Option

When you configure your FireCloud identity provider, there is now an AuthPoint option. The new AuthPoint options works the same as SAML, but with fewer settings to configure. This makes it faster and easier to set up FireCloud and AuthPoint. [SASE-2324]

FireCloud Total Access

A new FireCloud license, FireCloud Total Access, is now available. With Total Access, you can give FireCloud users access to local resources on the company network without a VPN. Improve Language Localization Accuracy for Web Browsers

Some FireCloud users connect to a FireCloud Point of Presence with an egress IP address of a different country, which can cause browsers to show a different language than the user expects.

With this feature, you can configure FireCloud to include the XFF header to help websites display the correct language. The XFF header includes the public IP address of the end-user, and web browsers use this IP address for language localization. This enhances the accuracy of language localization for end-users and improves the FireCloud experience. [SASE-2468]

New Features

FireCloud Internet Access

A new WatchGuard product, FireCloud Internet Access, is now available. FireCloud is a managed cloud-based firewall-as a-service. FireCloud protects your remote users against Internet-based security threats.

With FireCloud, you can configure these security settings to protect your users:

Content Scanning

Scanning engines protect against spyware, viruses, malicious applications, spam email, and data leakage.

Network Blocking

You can use FireCloud to monitor and block common security threats, such as botnets, spyware, SQL injections, cross-site scripting, and buffer overflows.

Geolocation

Geolocation is a security service that enables FireCloud to detect the geographic locations of connections to and from your protected devices. In FireCloud, you can enable and configure Geolocation to block access to and from specific locations.

Content Filtering

Content filtering uses the WebBlocker and Application Control security services to block specific content categories and applications.

You configure FireCloud in the WatchGuard Cloud platform, and end-users connect to the service with the WatchGuard Connection Manager. When end-users are connected to FireCloud, FireCloud protects them from threats so that they can safely use their computer and browse the Internet.
