VPN Statistics

On the VPN Statistics page, you can see information about the Branch Office VPNs and Mobile VPNs (SSL, IPSec, PPTP, and L2TP) configured for your Firebox or XTM device. You can also use the search feature to filter the tunnel lists, review the VPN diagnostic report.

The VPN statistics pages include the subsequent details. Not all details are available for each VPN type.

Local

The IP address at the local end of the tunnel.

Remote

The IP address at the remote end of the tunnel.

Sent

The number of bytes and packets sent out through the tunnel.

(Packets are only included for Branch Office VPN and Mobile VPN with IPSec)

Received

The number of bytes and packets received through the tunnel.

(Packets are only included for Branch Office VPN and Mobile VPN with IPSec)

Created

The date and time the tunnel was created.

Expires In

The number of days and hours or bandwidth (MB) that remain before the tunnel expires.

Security

The security protocol used to encrypt traffic through the tunnel.

Tunnel Name

The name tunnel assigned to the tunnel.

Gateways

The gateway endpoints used by this tunnel.

Number of Rekeys

The number of rekeys for the tunnel.

Login from

The IP address of the of the user computer.

View Branch Office VPN Tunnel Statistics

To see statistics for your Branch Office VPN tunnels:

  1. Select System Status > VPN Statistics.
  2. Select the Branch Office VPN tab.
    The traffic statistics for Branch Office VPN tunnels appear.
  3. From the drop-down list select an option:

    The available details for the selected option appear.

  4. To reduce the number of virtual interfaces or gateways that appear in the list, in the Search text box, type the text to filter the list on.
    You can type a partial word to find all matching virtual interfaces and gateways in the list.
  5. To see more information about a virtual interface or a gateway, select the interface or gateway.
    The interface or gateway expands to show the tunnel statistics.
  6. To see more information about a tunnel, select the tunnel.
    The tunnel statistics appear.
  7. To change the VPN configuration, click Edit.
    The Branch Office VPN page appears for the selected gateway or interface with the General Settings tab selected.
  8. To force a BOVPN tunnel to rekey, adjacent to the tunnel, click Rekey selected BOVPN tunnel.

View Mobile VPN Tunnel Statistics

On the Mobile VPN tab, you can see statistics for all Mobile VPN types enabled for your device (IPSec, SSL, PPTP, L2TP). You can also filter the list of VPNs on a specific user.

To see statistics for your Mobile VPN tunnels:

  1. Select System Status > VPN Statistics.
  2. Select the Mobile VPN tab.
    The traffic statistics for Mobile VPN tunnels appear.
  3. From the drop-down list select an option:

    The available details for the selected option appear.

  4. To filter the list of VPNs, in the Search text box, type the user name to filter the list on.
    You can type a partial word to find all matching users in the list.
  5. To see more information about a tunnel, select the tunnel.
    The tunnel statistics appear.
  6. To see more information about a tunnel user, select the tunnel user.
    The user statistics appear.

View Additional VPN Statistics

You can also see additional statistical information that you can use to help you troubleshoot your VPNs with a WatchGuard Technical Support representative. Statistical information is refreshed every 30 seconds, or at the Refresh Interval you select from the drop-down list at the top-right of the page.

To see statistical VPN information, select the Debug tab.
