Shared Configurations

Applies To: WatchGuard Cloud

WatchGuard Cloud provides different ways to manage shared configurations between products and services. These include:

Authentication Domains

An authentication domain is a domain associated with one or more external authentication servers. In WatchGuard Cloud, you can add your authentication domain, and specify authentication servers, users, and groups. You can use authentication domains for user authentication to multiple cloud-managed devices.

For more information, go to WatchGuard Cloud Authentication Domains.

Zero Trust

With Zero Trust in WatchGuard Cloud, you can create and manage policies and conditions (previously called policy objects in AuthPoint) in one place and use them across multiple products and services in WatchGuard Cloud. Centralized policy management makes it faster and easier to control who can use specific resources and when. Zero Trust conditions enable you to create more granular policies based on factors such as location, time, and user behavior.

For more information, go to About Zero Trust in WatchGuard Cloud.

WatchGuard Agent

The WatchGuard Agent is an application that you install on endpoints in your network so that WatchGuard Cloud can communicate with them. The WatchGuard Agent has two primary purposes:

  • Deploy WatchGuard software, such as the FireCloud connection manager and Endpoint Security product software.
  • Handle communication between managed computers on the same network and the WatchGuard cloud servers.

For more information, go to About the WatchGuard Agent.

DNSWatch in WatchGuard Cloud

DNSWatch in WatchGuard Cloud is a subscription service available with the Total Security Suite that you use to filter content and protect your network, devices, and users from malicious domains.

To use DNSWatch in WatchGuard Cloud to protect your network, you must create DNSWatch configurations. DNSWatch configurations define the settings and content filters that DNSWatch uses to determine whether to block a site. You can apply these configurations to both cloud- and locally-managed Fireboxes.
