ConnectWise PSA On-Prem Integration with WatchGuard CloudDR

ConnectWise is a Professional Services Automation (PSA) tool that helps IT service providers manage tickets, customers, billing, projects, and workflows in one centralized platform. This guide describes how to integrate the on-prem version of ConnectWise PSA with CloudDR.

Prerequisites

To configure this integration, you must have:

• A ConnectWise PSA administrator account.
• A ConnectWise PSA API Member account with required privileges to generate API keys.

Required Privileges for the API Member Account

Privilege Name	Add Level

Member Maintenance	Inquire Level: All
My Company	Inquire Level: All
Security Roles	Inquire Level: All
Table Setup	Inquire Level: All

Generate a Custom Role

To generate a custom role in ConnectWise PSA On-Prem:

1. Log in to ConnectWise PSA with an admin account.
2. From the navigation menu, select System > Security Roles.
3. To add a new security role, click .
   The new role page opens.
4. In the Role ID text box, type a descriptive name for the role.
5. To save the new role, click .
   The Security Modules for Role page opens.

Generate an API Member

To generate an API Member:

1. From the navigation menu, select System > Members.
2. Select the API Members tab.
3. Click and complete the required profile information:
   • Member ID — The unique identifier for the account.
   • Member Name — The name of the member.
   • Role ID — The ID you previously created.
   • Level 1 — Typically set to Corporate (Level 1).
4. Click Save.

Generate an API Key Pair

1. In the newly created API member profile, select the API Keys tab.
2. Click .
3. Enter a description for the key.
4. Click Save.

Copy the private and public keys and store them securely. The keys cannot be viewed again.

Configure the ConnectWise PSA On-Prem Integration in CloudDR

Service Providers can configure integration in CloudDR for a single organization or for all of their managed organizations. If you select a managed Service Provider from Account Manager, you can configure integration for all organizations managed by the Service Provider.

Before you begin, select the account you want to configure integration for:

• To configure integration for all organizations, from Account Manager, select Overview.
• To configure integration for a single organization, from Account Manager, select the account you want to integrate the application in CloudDR.

To integrate ConnectWise PSA with CloudDR, from WatchGuard Cloud:

1. Select Configure > CloudDR.
2. Select Integrations > SaaS Services.
3. (Service Providers) From the Select Integrations View drop-down list, select Add Integrations.

   

4. In the ConnectWise PSA On-Prem widget, click Add.
5. Click Start Integration.
6. On the Environment page, enter the portal URL. To identify the portal URL:
   1.  Log in to your ConnectWise PSA portal.
   2.  In the browser address bar, copy the sub-domain (for example, https://cw.mycompany.com).
   3. Paste the sub-domain in the Environment text box.
7. Click Next.
8. On the Company page, in the text box, enter the name of the ConnectWise PSA company you used to log in.
9. Click Next.
10. On the Public Key page, in the text box, enter the public API key you created.
11. Click Next.
12. On the Private Key page, in the text box, enter the private API key you created.
13. Click Submit.
