Monitor Networks

The Monitoring > Security > Networks tab displays a list of networks detected at the selected location.

When you select a network, you can then switch views between AP properties and sensor properties on the network.

This table shows the fields that appear on the Networks tab.

Sensor monitoring the network

Gateway MAC

Gateway MAC address

Exposed Since

Date and time since which the network is exposed

Network Type The type of network

Change the Location of a Network

The location of a network is the same as the location of the sensor that first reported the network. If there are multiple sensors connected to a network, the location of the network is the nearest common location of all reporting sensors.

To change the location of a network, do the following.

  1. Select Monitoring > Security > Networks.
  2. Select the location where the network has been detected.
  3. Select the check box for the network for which you want to change the location.
  4. Click the Change location icon icon.
  5. Select the new location.
  6. Click OK.

When you select the new location, the network is displayed in the new location.

Rename network

To rename a network:

  1. Select Monitoring > Security > Networks.
  2. Select the check box for the network to rename.
  3. Click the Rename network icon icon.
  4. Enter a new name for the network.
  5. Click OK.

Change Network Type

If a network displayed in the Networks tab does not possess or transmit credit card data, you can change the network type to non-CDE.

You can select multiple networks of the same type at the same time and mark them as non-CDE or CDE as required.

To change the network type of a network:

  1. Select Monitoring > Security > Networks.
  2. Select the check box for the network you want to mark as CDE or non-CDE.
  3. Click the Change network type icon icon.
  4. Select CDE or non-CDE.
  5. Click Yes to confirm.

The network type is changed and the new network type appears in the Network type column.

Delete Network

To delete a network from the Networks tab:

  1. Select Monitoring > Security > Networks.
  2. Select the check box for the network you want to delete.
  3. Click the Delete network icon icon.
  4. Click Yes to confirm.

Print Network List for a Location

To print the client list for a location:

  1. Select Monitoring > Security > Networks.
  2. Select the location for which you want to print the network list.
  3. Select the type of networks to print.
  4. Select the columns.
  5. Click the Print icon icon.
  6. Click Print to print the list.
