Troubleshooting (Automatic Packet Capture)

You can automatically capture a packet trace when client connectivity failures are detected on an SSID.

You can then download and analyze these packet traces in the Client Connection Logs in Discover to troubleshoot connectivity issues with your devices.

Download Packet Trace link will appear in the Client Connection logs when a failure occurs. Five of the latest packet traces are stored for each client and these traces are retained for a maximum of seven days. For more information on how to view automatic packet trace files for specific clients in Discover, see Client Connection Logs.

To enable automatic packet capture:

  1. From Manage, select Configuration > Device Configuration > SSID Profiles.
  2. Choose an existing SSID profile or add a new SSID profile.
  3. Expand the Troubleshooting section, then select Enable Automatic Packet Capture.
