Configure Time Zone and Tag for Location

To set the appropriate time zone for a location, select Configuration > System Settings > Location Specific Attributes.

Time zone settings help to ensure accurate analytics, SSID schedules, and device upgrade schedules. Make sure to select the correct time zone for the selected location. If you do not set the time zone for a location folder, analytics data displays the time zone for where the Manage service is located.

The AP local system time and uptime calculations are based on UTC standard time, not the configured location time zone.

The time zone settings are specific to individual locations and cannot be inherited from the parent location. You cannot set a time zone for a location floor. The time zone set for the immediate parent location folder is applied to the location floor.

Set Time Zone

To set the time zone for a location:

  1. Select Configuration > System Settings > Location Specific Attributes.
  2. Select a location.
  3. Select the time zone for the location.
  4. Click Save.

To edit the time zone for a location:

  1. Select Configuration > System Settings > Location Specific Attributes.
  2. Select a location.
  3. Select the new time zone for the location.

The time zone is applied recursively to all the child location folders.

Set Location Tag

A location tag is the location identifier that you can append to the circuit ID when DHCP Option 82 is enabled for an SSID profile.

If %l is used in the circuit ID, the AP replaces this variable with the location tag.

To set the location tag for a location:

  1. Select Configuration > System Settings > Location Specific Attributes.
  2. Select a location.
  3. Type the location tag.
  4. Click Save.
