Add Splash Pages for a Captive Portal

Applies To: Cloud-managed Fireboxes, WatchGuard Cloud-managed Access Points

Overview

A captive portal splash page is a web page that you redirect clients to when they connect to an access point wireless network SSID or an internal or guest wired or wireless network on a cloud-managed Firebox.

A splash page enables you to restrict Internet-only connectivity for guest clients. You can also enforce policies so that guest clients can access the Internet only after they review and accept the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, or provide user details in a web form on the captive portal splash page.

For more information about how to enable captive portals and how to use the splash pages you create, go to:

Image Specifications

To reflect your company brand, for each splash page, you can replace the default images with custom logos and images.

You can upload .JPG and .PNG file formats for custom logos and images. The images must have a non-transparent background. For best results, use these image specifications:

  • Company Logo — Upload a rectangular image with a recommended width and height of 500 x 200 pixels. The maximum file size is 250 KB.
  • Background Image — Upload a rectangular image with a recommended width and height of 1920 x 1200 pixels. The maximum file size is 2 MB.
  • Thumbnail Image — This is the image for the tab icon in a web browser. Upload a square image with a recommended width and height of 200 x 200 pixels. The maximum file size is 250 KB.
