DNSWatchGO Client Update Process

The DNSWatchGO Client updates automatically and installs the update through a silent installation. When your device is turned on, the client checks if there is an update available and then approximately once per hour. The client sends an HTTPS request to the DNSWatch cloud with its current version and the operating system of the client.

For example:

If a new client is available, DNSWatch responds to the client with a URL it can use to download the new version. The client downloads the new version as a MSI file, and applies a live update. A computer restart is not required, and there is no interaction with your users.

Although there is no notification on the protected computer, the operator who logs in to the DNSWatch dashboard can view which version is running on each client.
