Manage DNSWatch Whitelist Domains

DNSWatch automatically denies connections to domains based on Domain Feeds. If you want DNSWatch to allow access to a domain even if it appears in a Domain Feed, you can add the domain to the Whitelist.

To manage DNSWatch Whitelist Domains:

  1. Log in to your DNSWatch account.
  2. Select Configure > Whitelisted Domains.
    The Whitelisted Domains page opens.

  • Add, update, and delete Whitelisted domains
  • Filter the Whitelisted Domains

Domain Search

You can use the Domain Search feature to check whether a domain is already included in the Blacklisted domains, Whitelisted domains, or Domain Feeds. If a domain is not found on these lists, it appears in the search results as an allowed domain.

To search for a domain from the Whitelisted Domains page:

  1. Click Search All Domains.
    The Domain Search page opens.
  2. In the Enter a domain name text box, type the domain name and click Search Domains.
The Domain Search page opens with the search results and Actions.

If a domain is found on a Domain Feed, you can select the Add to Whitelist action in the search results to add the domain to the Whitelist. For more information about the Domain Search page, see Search DNSWatch Domains.

Add Domains to the Whitelist

From the Whitelisted Domains page, you can manually add domains to the Whitelist.

You cannot add a domain to the Whitelist if it is already on the Blacklist.

You can also add up to 100 new domains to the Whitelist at the same time. Each domain is added as a separate list item.

Update a Domain from the Whitelist

For each domain, you can update the description and select whether to include subdomains.

Remove a Domain from the Whitelist

When you remove a domain from the Whitelist, DNSWatch denies DNS requests to the domain if it appears in a Domain Feed.

Filter the Whitelist

You can apply filters to find Whitelisted domains that meet specific criteria. You can filter based on the domain name, the description, and the user who added the domain to the Whitelist.

To filter domains:

  1. Click Filter.
A list of available filters appears.

Screen shot of the Filters options

  1. Specify one or more of the available filters.
  2. To apply the specified filters, click Apply Filters.
The domain list is filtered and the filters are no longer visible.

To clear the filters:

  1. Click Filter.
  2. Click Clear Filters.
The domain list is not filtered.
