Set the Sticky Connection Duration for a Policy

The sticky connection setting for a policy overrides the global sticky connection setting. You must enable multi-WAN to use this feature.

If users report that they need to frequently re-authenticate to sites that use HTTPS, you can configure a higher sticky timeout for the policy that allows outbound HTTPS traffic. You might also want to configure a higher sticky timeout setting for Voice Over IP (VoIP) and video conferencing traffic for a better user experience.

To set sticky connection duration, from Fireware Web UI:

  1. Add or edit a policy.
  2. Select the Advanced tab.
  3. To use the global multi-WAN sticky connection setting, clear the Override Multi-WAN sticky connection setting check box.
  4. To set a custom sticky connection value for this policy, select the Enable sticky connection check box.
  5. In the Enable sticky connection text box, type the amount of time in minutes to maintain the connection.

To set sticky connection duration, from Policy Manager:

  1. In the Policy Properties dialog box, select the Advanced tab.
  2. Select the Sticky Connection tab.
  3. To use the global multi-WAN sticky connection setting, clear the Override Multi-WAN sticky connection setting check box.
  4. To set a custom sticky connection value for this policy, select the Enable sticky connection check box.
