Mobile VPN with SSL Client Not Installed with Administrative Rights (Windows)

When the Mobile VPN with SSL client is installed without Administrator privileges, essential drivers and services are not installed correctly. This can result in failed tunnel connections, missing components, or an unusable VPN configuration.

Symptoms

A non-administrator installation of the Mobile VPN with SSL client typically presents these symptoms:

  • VPN connections fail immediately after installation.
  • Missing or improperly configured components, such as the WatchGuard SSLVPN Service or the TAP adapter.
  • The Mobile VPN with SSL client installer completes and shows no errors, even though you did not use Administrator rights to install.
  • The Mobile VPN with SSL client installer does not complete and shows errors that reference:
    • Insufficient privileges.
    • Blocked drivers.
    • Service startup failures.
