Advanced Malware Detection and Prevention
Small to midsize businesses (SMBs) and distributed enterprises continue to fall victim to advanced malware attacks that have a serious impact on business operations and continuity. WatchGuard’s Total Security Suite is the most comprehensive UTM service in the industry, enabling organizations to not only detect and remediate these sophisticated attacks, but actually prevent them as well. Total Security Suite combines multiple advanced security services that work in tandem to deliver powerful, layered protection. With security modules such as APT Blocker and Host Ransomware Prevention, WatchGuard enables any organization to protect their business from the most advanced malware attacks, including ransomware and other threats designed to evade traditional security defenses.
Host Ransomware Prevention
Host Ransomware Prevention (HRP) is a ransomware specific module within the WatchGuard Host Sensor. HRP leverages a behavioral analytics engine and a decoy directory honeypot to monitor a wide array of characteristics determining if a given action is associated with a ransomware attack or not. If it’s determined that the threat is malicious, HRP can automatically prevent a ransomware attack before file encryption on the endpoint takes place.
What makes today’s threats so dangerous is that they can easily morph into code that will slip by signature-based products looking for a recognizable malware pattern. WatchGuard’s APT Blocker uses award-winning, next-generation sandbox technology to analyze traffic for potential threats. By detonating suspicious code in a harmless virtual environment, it can determine if the code is malicious and prevent it from executing on the network.
“With WatchGuard, we’ve been able to make some great advancements on securing many of the services we supply to the business – from remote access methods, to protecting users from advanced persistent threats that manage to evade signature-based systems, and many more.”
