One-Year Express Limited Hardware Warranty Extension Program

Extend Your Warranty and Protect Your Investment

The WatchGuard® One-Year Express Limited Hardware Warranty Extension Program safeguards your security solution investment for an additional year, providing the fiscal management, reliability, and convenience benefits of your original warranty:

  • A proactive warranty extension allows you to budget for hardware maintenance.
  • You can continue to rely on WatchGuard® to help you resolve hardware issues.
  • You know exactly who to call if you experience problems with WatchGuard® hardware.

This program is available through authorized resellers in the Americas and APAC regions only. Customers in the EMEA region should contact their local resellers as program details may vary.

Products eligible for hardware warranty extension

This hardware warranty extension is available for Firebox® Vclass, Firebox® SOHO models, and Firebox® III products that meet both of the following criteria:

  • The product is still within its original warranty period.
  • The product has been registered with the LiveSecurity® Service.

Requesting a Replacement Unit

If you believe that your hardware unit requires replacement, please contact your Reseller or WatchGuard Technical Support to request a replacement. As a LiveSecurity customer whose unit is still within its warranty period, you may also contact WatchGuard Technical Support directly. To request a replacement unit via the Web, log in to the LiveSecurity website and click on the "Submit an Incident" link. To request a replacement unit via telephone, contact WatchGuard Technical Support at the following numbers:

Length of original warranty period

The original hardware warranty extends 12 months from the date of product purchase.

Length of warranty extension period

All WatchGuard firewall appliances come with a one (1) year manufacturer's limited hardware warranty. The One-Year Express Limited Hardware Warranty Extension prolongs this original warranty for one (1) year from the date of the original warranty period expiration, or one (1) year from the expiration date of a previously applied extension.

When to renew the warranty

Renew your hardware warranty extension annually. At the time of renewal, the product must be within its original warranty period, or within 90 days of a prior warranty extension's expiration.

How to purchase a One-Year Express Limited Hardware Warranty Extension

To purchase a hardware warranty extension, contact an authorized WatchGuard reseller.

How to activate a One-Year Express Limited Hardware Warranty Extension

  1. Activate your product with LiveSecurity® Service at www.watchguard.com/activate.
  2. Activate your Extended Hardware Warranty online at www.watchguard.com/warranty.
  3. Provide the number from the One-Year Warranty Extension license key certificate and the serial number of the Firebox® appliance to which you will apply your warranty extension.

You can only activate an extended warranty if the unit is within its original warranty period, or is within 90 days prior to the expiration of a previously extended warranty (as long as WatchGuard offers such warranty extensions for sale).

Maximum successive warranties per unit

Per unit, customers are permitted to have up to a maximum of three (3) 1-Year Hardware Warranty Extension licenses purchased and "pending" at any one time. The licenses are applied within the eligible timeframe on an annual basis. You can only activate an extended warranty if the unit is within its original warranty period, or is within 90 days prior to the expiration of a previously extended warranty (as long as WatchGuard offers such warranty extensions for sale).

Renewing out-of-warranty products

Only WatchGuard products that are currently under warranty are eligible for hardware warranty extensions. Products whose warranties are already expired are not eligible for this program, but may be serviced by our Out of Warranty Hardware Replacement Program.

Express* shipping for products covered by the hardware warranty extension

If a product covered under this warranty extension must be repaired or replaced, the customer is responsible for the cost of returning the defective product to WatchGuard®. When returning the product to the customer, WatchGuard® will use standard overnight delivery in the continental United States, and reasonable expedited shipment, such as express delivery, for all other locations. See the Return Merchandise Agreement for warranty claim procedures and shipping instructions.

Warranty claims on discontinued products

If you submit a valid warranty claim on a unit that is no longer in production, you may receive as a replacement the model that superseded the original unit, or the closest equivalent currently available. WatchGuard expects to offer annual extensions until WatchGuard determines the particular model will be discontinued.
