How It Works

High Availability Active/Passive

With WatchGuard System Manager, configure two same-model Fireboxes installed on your network, designating one as the primary source for enforcing your security policy, and the other as a secondary, or standby, firewall.
The standby remains inactive unless the primary Firebox ceases to respond to a connection on a specified channel over a selected Firebox interface. If no response is received across the network from the primary Firebox, the standby Firebox will assume the active role within ten seconds of failure detection.

For use of 3-Port Upgrade: Any Firebox® X Core™ appliance running WFS appliance software.
For use of High Availability Active/Passive: Two same-model Firebox X Core appliances running WFS operating system.
An active LiveSecurity® Service subscription.
