Gateway antivirus solutions are signature-based security options that provide protection at the perimeter of your network. They are your first line of defense, scanning inbound and outbound e-mail traffic to identify and block malicious threats before they can enter your network.

WatchGuard offers two gateway antivirus security options:

Gateway Antivirus for E-mail

Gateway AntiVirus for E-mail uses a database of over 22,000 signatures to proactively protect your network against viruses, worms, trojans, and blended threats.

Gateway AntiVirus/Intrusion Prevention Service

Gateway AntiVirus/Intrusion Prevention Service (Gateway AV/IPS) identifies and blocks e-mail borne threats attempting to enter your network, while also providing protection from protocol-compliant attacks that carry malicious content.
