New VP of Marketing Joins Executive Team at WatchGuardEric Aarrestad named Vice President of MarketingSeattle, WA - August 29, 2007. WatchGuard Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of security appliances and unified threat management (UTM) solutions, announced today that Eric Aarrestad has been selected to be its new vice president of marketing. Aarrestad is a senior business executive with over 18 years of marketing and business development experience in the software and services industry. He will report directly to WatchGuard CEO Joe Wang. "Eric has the results-oriented track record that we were looking for in our new VP of marketing," said Wang. "His proven ability to successfully drive product and solution adoption makes him an excellent fit with our existing executive team here at WatchGuard." Prior to joining WatchGuard, Aarrestad served as director of product marketing and worldwide marketing for Microsoft in the Mobile and Embedded Devices Division. There he led the global product and business segment marketing strategy and execution from early stage start up to a $300M+ P&L business group. While at Microsoft, he led mobile business application, messaging, and security and infrastructure marketing and execution. As vice president of marketing at Sightward, Aarrestad was responsible for the launch of the company's predictive analytics and hosted services solutions. Prior to Sightward, he served as director of product marketing for N2H2 and as a management consultant in the strategy practice at Edgar, Dunn & Company in San Francisco, California. Aarrestad has an M.B.A. from Southern Methodist University and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Portland. "WatchGuard opens up new challenges for me," commented Aarrestad.
