WatchGuard Announces Two New VPs of SalesTerry Haas named vice president of international sales, Bill Smith to be vice president of sales for the AmericasSeattle, WA - June 14, 2007. WatchGuard Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of security appliances and unified threat management (UTM) solutions, announced today that it is adding two industry veterans to its executive team. Terry Haas has been named vice president of international sales, while Bill Smith has accepted the position of vice president of sales for the Americas. Both men come to WatchGuard with decades of experience leading successful sales and marketing divisions. They will report directly to the CEO. "I am delighted to have Terry and Bill join us at WatchGuard, and look forward to their contributions in growing company revenue," said Joe Wang, CEO of WatchGuard. "I have worked with both men in the past and know from firsthand experience the level of energy, expertise, knowledge, and commitment that they bring to a team." Haas has a broad management background in the network, systems management, and security markets. Most recently, he served as the CEO of Solera Networks. Prior to that, Haas was vice president of sales for LANDesk Software where he was responsible for transforming the sales organization into a scalable and efficient "direct touch" team, contributing to LANDesk's acquisition by Avocent. As vice president at Phobos Corporation (acquired by SonicWALL), he spear-headed product marketing and management of their SSL accelerator product line. Haas also served as vice president of worldwide channel sales for Novell where he developed industry-leading channel programs. In addition to quota attainment, his responsibilities at WatchGuard include channel recruitment, partner development, strategic alliances, and demand generation activities for all regions outside the Americas. Smith has more than 20 years of sales and executive management experience. During his 10 years with Novell he was vice president of sales for the Americas, and managed virtually every aspect of sales operations. Prior to joining WatchGuard, he was vice president of worldwide sales for LANDesk Software. His responsibilities at WatchGuard are to ensure that all revenue, profitability, productivity, and customer satisfaction goals of the Americas' sales team are met. Smith is considered an expert on selling methodologies and is a strong proponent of Question-Based Selling, which he has taught to sales people and organizations all over the world.
