We believe strongly in these practices, and will continue to foster programs and product designs that minimize negative impacts and promote progressive environmental policy.
Our Commitment to Environmental Legislation Compliance
Working in partnership with our EU and Chinese distribution partners, we ensure that our Firebox® X e-Series products comply with their statutes and that the recovery of our products, according to specific EU country legislative requirements, is seamless for our end users.
WEEE: Recycling Responsibly
WEEE is an EU directive mandating the collection and treatment of waste from electronic and electrical equipment at end of life. As part of our commitment to environmental responsibility and in keeping with WEEE regulations, WatchGuard provides detailed hardware disassembly information for use by disposal vendors.
RoHS: Lead-Free and Beyond
The RoHS directive bans the sale of electrical and electronic products containing lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyl (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) flame retardants within the EU market. WatchGuard’s e-Series products comply with the RoHS directive, including exemptions that specifically apply to using non-RoHS replacement parts to repair legacy equipment that predates RoHS requirements.
WatchGuard Firebox X e-Series appliances are also compliant with the China RoHS directive that went into effect on March 1, 2007.
