WatchGuard IPv6 Readiness

IPv6_ready_logo_phase2
Current XTM hardware and the OS kernel for Fireware XTM have IPv6 support. In the current software version, the v6 support is not exposed in the UI. WatchGuard is exposing IPv6 support, in sync with the anticipated adoption patterns among our customer base, over the course of 2011-2012. The initial set of v6 functionality we will expose in 2011 will allow IPv6 addressing on external-facing interfaces, and will allow the device to pass traffic in a mixed IPv4 and IPv6 environment. WatchGuard Fireware XTM was granted the IPv6 Ready Gold logo (routing) in Q4, 2011. This logo validates that the IPv6 "plumbing" functions correctly, and is the basis for IPv6 firewalling in subsequent releases. Future releases will expose more advanced IPv6 functionality including tunneling, DHCP, native v6 security functions, and other security functionality.
